TIME

I don't know where the time goes, but it has been 4 1/2 months since the last blog.

We did the New England states, in a haphazard tour, skirting around Hurricane Irene with her flooding and damage. Maine was spectacular, with Acadia National Park the highlight. With rugged, mostly rocky coastline, and Cadillac mountain high enough to see it all, Two weeks of hiking, biking and lobster fests, We didn't want to leave.

With the nonsensical route we took, we were able to follow the Fall foilage colors, South, as we visited New Hampshire and Vermont. With Lake Champlain. the White and Green mountains, and the area rich in history, we really didn't have enough time AGAIN! We spent so much time in these tiny states, we were only able to spend two days in the Boston area and then wrap up the two month tour with 5 days in New York City meeting up with friends.

Spent an entire day on Ellis Island, and found where my great grandfather came to America in 1895 as a young man on a sketchy ship from Scandinavia. Quite emotional day!

Raced back to Florida to catch an Eastern Caribbean cruise, and here we sit, establishing new doctors, listening to the GOP hopefuls, riding bikes on the beach in 70 degree weather and learning that football is a religion, and not a sport.

  1. Aww, I love reading your blog! Are you still in Florida? I so loved seeing you last month, although entirely too briefly. Oregon (and I) misses you greatly, but some sunshine sure sounds lovely about this time of year. Love to you both!
